Synchronous online music performance: a low-latency solution for educators: Opinions voiced by music educators and repeated in music education literature state that teaching music performance is best supported in a face-to-face environment. Networked music performance tools-- new low-latency technologies that give the educator options to connect with students over the internet in CD-quality sound and in near real-time conditions-- challenge conventional wisdom about music performance education. An explanation of these tools with examples and practical guidelines for setting up such a connection will be provided during this presentation.
